Everybody had a good night sleep. Dorm food is much better than we have heard and even better than camp food. They also let us keep our electronic food and door cards.
Today Troop 1134 lost an hour at the Indiana boarder. I bet you we will find on the way back.
We traveled the Blue Star Memorial Highway. This highway is to honor the men and women who served in the United States Air Force.
The National United States Air Force Museum has many hands on activities including the training module (cool). We visited four hangers and a silo. The first hanger contains the Early Years of Flight. There are panes there made by the Wright brothers. Pilots had to be very brave to fly these planes. Hanger Two has planes from WWII including a B17, B26, B28, Fly Tiger, P40 and many more. We saw Box Car (the bomber that ended the WWII) along with actual atomic bombs (cores removed of course). The cold war hanger has a B52 in the middle. How did they get it in there? The B52 made the SR71 Blackbird look small. The H-bombs are also smaller than imaged. The first aircraft in hanger Four is a B2 Bomber. The AC130 gun ship is assume as well as well as the B1. There are many fighters including a F117 Stealth Fighter, a RF4 Wild Wessel, a F22 Rapture, just to name a few on display. In the Silo, we saw a Gemini, a Titian, a Titian II, and a Minute Man. Just not enough time to see everything.
