Volunteers Honored by the Boy Scouts of America

Linda D. Christensen, one of three volunteers selected to be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. The Heart of America Council is pleased to honor Linda Christensen for her commitment to provide outstanding service to young people as adult volunteers in the Scouting program for many years.
Linda Christensen is the proud mother of Six Eagle Scout sons, five Shamans and one Keeper of the Sacred Bundle. Linda has given of herself in guiding young men along the path of achievement. As a Den Leader in Pack 269 and 469, she made the Cub Scout Promise alive for the youth of her den, and serving as a member of the Troop Committee, Merit Badge Counselor and Popcorn Kernel for Troop 269 and Troop 499, she mentored young adults in the Scout Oath and Law. For more than a decade, Linda has shared her talents with her district and council by providing valuable leadership on the Klondike Derby and Camporee Staff, the District Merit Badge Academy, and volunteered her skills as an RN to the Bartle Scout Reservation and Rotary Camp. This trained leader has been recognized with the District Award of Merit, Silver Acorn Award and the Torch of Gold Award. In addition to providing valuable community service for the Special Olympics, Southwest Charter School, and Raytown High School, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Old Ivory Porcelain Society and a dedicated Hallmark employee for more than 15 years.
