| "72 sixth graders attended a presentation, regarding WW II through present day, from the local VFW on November 11th. This is the third year the VFW has made presentations" said Kim Hassler, 6th grade social studies teacher at Richardson Elementary. |

| Jackie Megee is a very driven little girl. She is eleven years old and a student at Greenwood Elementary. In her words, “I am the only 11 year old that owns a business in Greenwood and I am probably the only kid trying to collect 1,000,000 aluminum cans.” |

| On Friday, Sept. 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office and store in the United States. It should be every persons' duty to display an American flag on the 8th anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. |

We are known as “The Honor Degree of the VFW” and our members are comprised of the officers and leadership of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Membership in the MOC is recognition of outstanding service to the VFW and its programs. |
