By Sgt. Steve Leone, JCSP

At approximately 11:10 PM on September 25, 2009 Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Missouri 150 Hiway and Smart Rd. in southern Jackson County in regard to a traffic accident.  When deputies arrived they discovered two vehicles had been involved in a collision.  One vehicle, a red Chevrolet Trailblazer, had been southbound on Smart Rd. and the other vehicle, a red Chevrolet Cavalier, had been eastbound on 150 Hiway.  The Trailblazer contained the driver and two occupants and the Cavalier contained the driver.  The driver of the Cavalier and a passenger from Trailblazer were taken to local hospitals for treatment.  The other passenger from the Trailblazer was deceased at the scene.

The decedent is Tyler M. Fratzke, 17 years old, from Lee’s Summit, MO.  At this time the accident is under investigation.
