Sgt. Childs leaving post as Public Information Officer for Lee's Summit Police Department

At the scene of the fire at 713 SE Douglas St. on Thursday,September 2nd, Debbie Van Pelt introduced herself to Sgt. Michael Childs as the Tribune’s new News Editor.  Childs welcomed Van Pelt, but revealed he will be giving up his position as Public Information Officer effective September 13th.  Sgt. Chris Depue will become the new PIO, while Childs will spend more time “on the streets” as an officer.
