Summit Technology Academy students win top prizes in seatbelt education video contest

Summit Technology Academy students captured the top two prizes in a state-wide video contest focusing on seatbelt safety. The students, who are enrolled in the Digital Media Technology program at Summit Technology Academy, won first and second place in the Battle of the Belt Challenge, which is aimed at raising seatbelt usage among teenagers.

championship for the 5th year in a row.

Vote in 'Battle of the Brains'

Three R-7 schools are among the 10 elementary
school finalists in the Science City and Burns &
McDonnell “Battle of the Brains” contest. Schools
submitted designs for the next great exhibit for Science
City. The winning entry will assist engineers in creating
the actual exhibit and be awarded $50,000.

Catch some high school theater this weekend

All three R-7 high schools will open theatre productions
on Nov. 11. Lee’s Summit High School will kick off
its season with “Guys and Dolls,” scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Nov. 11, 12, 18, 19 and at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 20.
