Lee’s Summit Citizens Group Announces Interview Schedule for 2010 Municipal Election Candidates

Due to scheduling conflicts with candidates, CELSCG has made changes to the previously announced interview schedule.
Door will open at 5:45 p.m. instead of 6 p.m., and the night of the interviews for District 1 was swapped with the mayoral candidates. The new schedule is:
· Tuesday, March 9: Mayoral and District 2. Interviews will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16: Districts 1, 3 and 4 candidates. Interviews will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

Lee’s Summit Citizens Group Announces Interview Schedule for 2010 Municipal Election Candidates
Citizens for Excellence in Lee’s Summit City Government (CELSCG) is a community-based group serving as an information channel to assist candidates in educating Lee’s Summit voters about each candidate’s stance on key issues impacting our community.
The group is made up of citizen volunteers from throughout Lee’s Summit who have organized to support excellence in Lee’s Summit city government.
Candidate interviews will take place at Emaline Ballroom, 616 SW Third St., Lee’s Summit. These interviews are open to the public; however, questions will be limited to those CELSCG has prepared. All candidates will be asked the same questions and their answers will be posted on the CELSCG website at visit www.ExcellenceInLS.com.
There are two dates for interviews:
• District 1 and District 2 candidates will be interviewed Tuesday, March 9.
• District 3, District 4 and mayoral candidates will be interviewed Tuesday, March 16.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and interviews will begin shortly thereafter.
CELSCG supports and encourages superior leadership, including:
• Collegiality
• Lack of personal agendas
• Understanding of and respect for the difference between the roles of elected officials as policy makers and of professional staff as policy administrators
• Demonstrated commitment to accessibility and accountability
• Ability to rise above personal bias for the good of the entire community
