Tuesday, December 29th at 5:45 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 500 block of NW Falk Drive on the report of an armed disturbance. The calling party reported a female subject forced entry to the home and pointed a weapon at the male resident. With other family members of the victim present the female subject fled the scene in a white vehicle which was located a short time later crashed in the 200 block of NW Main. Following foot prints in the snow officers were able to track the subject to the 300 block of NW Central where she entered a residence. Officers had the home owner exit who confirmed the female subject whom he was familiar with was still inside. After a short period of time officers with the Emergency Services Squad made entry to the residence and apprehended the female without incident or injury. The weapon used during the incident was located ditched in the snow in the 200 block of NW Falk Dr.
Tuesday afternoon a felony warrant was issued for the female subject, Laurie E. Estes 08/30/89, from the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, charging her with the following: Burglary - 1st degree and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon A bond of $20,000.00 cash was issued and the subject remains in custody.
